Diagnosis
Patient had developed a painful spur on his foot.
The prognosis was surgery was the only way to be able to be pain free and walk and do daily activity.
Surgery meant no weight bearing for 3 months and plenty of rehab with no real guarantee of success.
Successful – Alternative Treatment
Cryotherapy was applied on the area consistently for 4 to 5 weeks.
Inflammation was reduced around the area and patient is now pain free, happy and back to normal work activities – Hasn’t required any anti-inflammatory drugs since pain stopped and use of pain relief has ceased.
Patient Profile
- 56 year old male
- Weight 100 kg
Has been in truck tyre industry for over 41 years fitting truck and tractor tyres that are anywhere from 50 to over 90 kg each.
Patient is self-employed and has worked 6 to 7 days a week over the 41 year period changing up to 60 tyres a week in his prime. So his body is well worn (out!).
Costs
Patient has had knee and ankle arthroscopes and constant back problem seeking any pain relief he can from chiropractors, acupuncture, massage etc. which, in today’s dollars, has cost .. get ready.. over three hundred thousand dollars using simple figures.
Compare it to your own situation at $150 per week for whatever you use for pain relief (massage, chiro, acupuncture and drugs).
Over 41 years this equals $319,000 and over this time much more has likely been spent. If only cryotherapy was around all those years ago.
Outcome
The patient was in a position of needing whatever relief he could get on a daily basis to be able to perform and run his business successfully 15 hours a day.
What relief he would get was not able to work and stop the pain because he would be straight back to work without any rest the next day.
The near instant relief from cryotherapy treatments has cut down inflammation so quickly that pain just goes. He can certainly vouch for it and was the biggest sceptic after years of failed therapies.
His dire situation was going to require an Achilles operation and was moments away from booking the operation. He would have been out of action for 3 months or more if the surgery had proceeded.
He’s very glad he did the cryotherapy and the pain is in “check” and normal living has returned.
Why it works!
The rapid controlled cooling of the affected area using cryogenic gases below minus 100 degrees Celsius causes the body to massively increase blood flow to the area and this triggers a more effective natural healing process.
